What Michinoeki Tracker collects, and how it's handled.
Which michinoeki you've marked as visited is stored only in your browser, on this device. It is never sent anywhere, including to us.
Clearing your browser's site data or switching devices will lose this record unless you use "Export progress" to save a file, which you can load again with "Load data" on another device.
Pressing "Nearest to me" requests your current location through the browser, once. It's used only to sort the list and adjust the map view. Your location is never stored or transmitted anywhere, and disappears when you close the tab.
If you don't use this feature, no location is ever requested. Declining the permission prompt does not affect any other feature.
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand how many people use the app. It doesn't use cookies and doesn't collect personally identifying information. It reports aggregate statistics like pages viewed, referrers, and rough region.
To display the app, your browser connects to these external services. As with any web request, your IP address is visible to them.
Map tiles are cached after first viewing, so later visits use less data and the app can work offline.
To help cover running costs, this site may show affiliate links to road-trip gear. Whenever they are shown, the panel carries an “AD” label.
If you follow one of those links, the store you land on may set a cookie so the referral can be credited. That happens on the store's side. This site never sends your records or your location anywhere. Nothing is shared unless you follow a link yourself.
We don't collect anything we could share. Your visit records and location stay on your device, so we can't see them and can't pass them to anyone else.
If this policy changes, this page will be updated.
